Health and Safety

Health and Safety on scaffoldingHealth & safety is at the heart of GWN's business, totally integrated into everything we do. The very nature of the construction industry requires exacting health & safety controls and our bespoke H&S management system means that we keep our own tradesmen safe as well as those around them.

We meet and aim to surpass our own standards. We also strive to go further than our competition.

GWN employs a full-time H&S manager who constantly monitors all aspects of fast moving legislation. GWN are dedicated to H&S training for all of our employees. We carry out a weekly 'toolbox talk' and operate courses covering all issues relating to works on our sites.

GWN is a member of the International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) which promotes the safe use of powered access worldwide. The IPAF training programme for platform operators is certified by TÜV and conforms to ISO 18878. GWN operators have a PAL Card (Powered Access Licence), the most widely held and recognised proof of training for platform operators.

Construction Skills Certification SchemeGWN are also member of PASMA and we also use the services of Simian Risk Management.

At GWN, safety is never a 'bolt on ' extra. We see it as something that pervades the whole organisation. Nothing is ever left to chance. We can supply full site method statements relating to safety.
