History of GWN Drywall systems

GWN History

A rich plastering history spanning 60 yearsGWN grew frrom a family business which began in the 1940's when lath and plaster was all the rage. As the Construction Industry has evolved, GWN Drywall has recognised the need to move forward. Unlike most other companies , we have incorporated floor screeding, partitions, structural framing and suspended ceilings within our core works.

Due to our vast experience, we are able to offer a design service regarding the specification of different wall types ( db ratings and insulation properties) and have, on numerous occasions, made large cost savings by using alternative products. We have partnered numerous major contractors. We have been involved in seven David Lloyd Leisure Centres varying in contract values up to £450,000 each and also three Roko Leisure Centres with contract values of £250,000 each. This repeat business is testimony to our personal approach to the work.

GWN's current managing director, Gary Walsh has achieved numerous awards for plastering including the CITB plasterer of the year whilst attending Bolton College. Gary's brother, Lee Walsh, also achieved the prestigious 'British Gypsum plasterer of the year" whilst attending technical college in Lancashire. In fact, the 4th generation of the Walsh family is to become a plasterer; Ryan Walsh has started his apprenticeship.

In 2008 we moved to a super new office suite at Britannia House in Great Harwood.
